Luke A Difficult Out As Reds 8U Defeat HBC 8U

Luke F collected three hits in four at bats, as Reds 8U defeated HBC 8U 16-5 on Tuesday. Luke F tripled in the sixth inning, doubled in the second inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.

HBC 8U opened the scoring in the first after a steal of home scored one run.

Reds 8U flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring five runs on four hits to take a 5-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Nick M after a 6-pitch at-bat that drove in two.

Reds 8U added one run in the third after Gio B stole home.

Reds 8U scored five runs on four hits in the top of the fifth inning. A steal of home scored one run, Nick M singled, scoring one run, Luke F doubled, scoring one run, and Dom G singled, scoring two runs.

Bryce P began the game for Reds 8U. The righty allowed zero hits and one run over one inning, striking out three and walking two. Luke F tossed one and one-third innings of no-run ball for Reds 8U in relief. They surrendered one hit, striking out two and walking one.

Reds 8U accumulated 12 hits in the game. Gio B and Dom G each collected multiple hits for Reds 8U. Nick M led Reds 8U with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Luke F, Bryce P, Grant S, Nick M, Gio B, and Dom G each stole multiple bases for Reds 8U. Reds 8U stole 15 bases in the game.

Cameron S led HBC 8U with one run batted in. Adam F led HBC 8U with one hit in three at bats. Philip M paced HBC 8U with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying 14 walks for the game. Santino B, John G, Kyle S, Cameron S, and Julian G each stole multiple bases for HBC 8U. HBC 8U stole 16 bases in the game.
